double helix

it was sunday night again. the gang's all here. the music is right. the candles are lit. the drinks go down down down.
pick up a punk rock jam out across the street. the girls are upstairs doing god knows what. the boys sweat downtown funk.
in the stairwell the light is blue blue darling. i see your face up at the stop of the stairs with a vagabond smirk.
it's another round for the gang because sunrise is far enough away.

FUCKING SUMMER JAMZ
i could go on and on

i remember this time from last summer that was great. it was a saturday afternoon and marcus and i had just eaten breakfast and were riding our bikes through the east village. we decided to go sit in his backyard in greenwich village when he was living on macdougal street. to get to his patio you had to climb out his living room window. we bought a couple of bud tall boys at the corner store climbed through the window and sat there listening to street hassle as loud as we could. he had a huge bag of peanuts and we were eating peanuts and tossing the shells. i've never eaten so many peanuts in my life. i could just feel that heatwave take over and i started to feel that good beer buzz taking over while the sun was getting lower in the sky. felt frozen in my chair. why would i want to move?

rolling thunder review

i woke up yesterday and expected to go to have something to do, but i didn't. i went to four bike shops in brooklyn but no one could fix my bike. because it's so old, no one seemed to know how to do it. so i just kept walking and walking around with it from one bike shop to another. ate lunch at bonita. got tacos and a limeade.walked over the williamsburg bridge hoping that imi at my bike shop in the east village. he put on a new wheel. cost me 50 bucks and took 20 minutes. picked up this great afro jazz record by solomon ilori at turntable lab. rode back to williamsburg and met becka at teddy's. the bartender janelle was wasted when we got there. our bill was $2. she kept refilling our beers and pouring whiskeys even after i had told her to stop. afterwards we went to this abandoned space and took some photos and rode around inside. the weather was so nice. it was pretty much the perfect day

stuck in my shadow

took this shot of becka yesterday in the late afternoon.
